A director, a poet, and business man walk into a bar.

Not a joke. That’s what happened.

When the three Goondocks met, A. Cody Osborne, Nick E Finn, and Pratik Panda had no idea what a round of beer-shot-combos on that fateful afternoon would eventually lead to.

After a decade of work as an agency copywriter

Cody left to start a company, later acquired by Dropbox where he become their in-house director.

He then attempted to break in the industry as a freelance director.

Meanwhile, Nick E was working as a teacher and moonlighting as a playwright/performer.

Panda had recently left his corporate desk job at Adobe.

What started as few friends sporadically making videos just-for-fun, became a full-on obsession in 2019.

That year, the trio that would later be known as The Goondocks went all-in, making 51 videos in 52 weeks, nicknaming the endeavor “Project 51.

Highlights include “Gettin Nutty,” “Shameek’s Perception” and “Selfee” (our first official client).

In 2019, The Goondocks also shot their first official short film “Liquid Courage” - a satirical riff on the war movie genre. Liquid Courage was featured  in NYC, Budapest, and Milan film festivals.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, The Goons refused to be slowed, continuing to make videos remotely - and eventually moving into first studio space where we could film safely in a bubble.

Throughout 2020 and 2021, the Goondocks worked directly with brands to create DTC marketing content. Some of the exciting startups we got to work with were: Farmer’s Dog, Billie, and maxbone.

As things began opening back up at the end of 2021, The Goondocks had the opportunity to make our first commercials. Linking up with Party Land, we created the Wholly Veggie campaign, which would later go on become our most awarded and recognized work.

In March of 2022, The Goondocks moved into their current studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn. That’s when things started to really take off. While still working directly with select brands, in 2022, The Goondocks and Party Land linked up for three more campaigns: Deschutes Brewery, The Habit Burger, and Drizly, attracting more momentum within the industry.

This year, The Goondocks released our second short film Bushwick Jodi, an all-female Spaghetti Western set in contemporary Brooklyn. Bushwick Jodi was featured in the 2023 Coney Island Film Festival.

On the commercial side, The Goondocks have focused on cultivating relationships with more top agencies, collaborating with Twitch’s in-house agency for Papa Johns/Doritos, Party Land for Impossible Foods, and Bandits & Friends for The Athletic.

It is our hope to become one of the top independent comedy-focused production companies, spreading our ethos of fun, while making fun, funny, beautiful, avant garde work.

Tell ‘em Elroy Sent ya!

Love, The Goondocks
